FROM THE PRINCIPAL, Nathan Domsch

I have the joy of reading to our east building students each Friday and love to see the excitement and joy in the lives of our youngest students.  We do a lot of reading at school and I encourage you as parents to read to/with your children as well.  Reading to children at home helps in so many ways! It gives families extra opportunity to bond, helps students develop good comprehension and listening skills, and places priority on reading.  Try a detailed Bible story book and grow in knowledge and faith!

Donations Needed!

We are now seeking donations for the 2nd Annual PSCE Benefit Auction! Would you or someone you know consider donating an item, gift certificate, or basket to the auction? Families who solicit one or more items for the auction will receive one Doing it For the Kids hour! Last week’s Eagle included a letter with specific details; stop by the office if you need an extra copy!

Early Dismissal

The first 1:00 p.m. dismissal is next Wednesday, September 25.  There will be after school latchkey for those children who are already enrolled in the program. If your child is not enrolled but will need latchkey that day, please stop by the office to pick up an enrollment form! Periodic Latchkey use is $10 per session, including early dismissal days.

P.S.C.E.

The first Parents Supporting Christian Education meeting of the year is September 23 at 6:30 p.m. All Immanuel parents are automatically members of this great organization. Please plan to come and earn yourself one Doing It For the Kids service hour!

BoxTops

Every 10 BoxTops you turn in (include your name and grade!) enters you to win one of two $10 Scrip gift cards from PSCE. Right now, purchase of 10 qualifying products at Dierbergs earns you 50 Bonus BoxTops! Hurry—you only have until 8:30 a.m. on September 23!

Eagle’s Nest

Parents, skip the morning line at the coffee shop and stop by the Eagle’s Nest in the East Building when you drop your children off! The Nest is cozy, comfy, and a great place to gather for fellowship with other parents—and there’s great coffee for the suggested donation of $1!

BEE Healthy

Team up with Dierbergs and the Cardinals to BEE Healthy! Students ages 6-12 can write a short essay (50 words or less) describing what they pack in their lunchbox and how they play at recess to stay healthy. Essay forms are available at all Dierbergs locations and at www.dierbergs.com through September 30. The grand prize is an assembly hosted by a Cardinals player and Fredbird, along with $1,000 for new playground equipment. Second prize is $500 for new playground equipment.
